Pierre Watkins, one of the leaders of the hunger strike, was unexpectedly and without explanation transferred to a facility in Colorado. Mr. Watkins was in an isolation unit before being transferred, but can receive letters at the new location. However, he may not have the commisary funds to get access to stamps and stationary. You can write him at:
Denver Reception and Diagnostic Center
10900 Smith Road
Denver, CO 80239
DO NOT MENTION THE WORDS “HUNGER STRIKE”. The letters are read by prison personnel, and may be withheld if the content is determined to be dangerous to the prison. Instead, use phrases like “people are still having food issues” to let Mr. Watkins know that the strike has continued.
It is now the fifteenth day of the hunger strike.
