On Thursday November 8th, at 6:30pm, at the University of Richmond Downtown Gallery Space (626 East Broad Street), HOME and the Virginia Poverty Law Center will be holding a community forum. A panel of experts will discuss Richmond’s history of residential segregation, current segregation in the city, and how the community can work toward a more integrated city.
The panelists will be: Dr. Shawn Utsey (Chair of VCU’s Department of African American Studies), Reverend Ben Campbell (Richmond Hill), and Dr. John V. Moeser (U of R’s Bonner Center of Civil Engagement). The moderator will be Ana Edwards, of Defenders LIVE!, the Sacred Ground Historical Reclamation Project, and manager of Library Programs and the Byrd House Market at the William Byrd Community House.
